ENERGY COMPANIES RENEW FYLDE RUGBY CLUB SPONSORSHIP

As one of the club’s main sponsors Cuadrilla and Centrica Energy – will again have their names on the first team shirts for the new 2015-2016 National One League season. The agreement also means that the Lancashire shale gas exploration partners will continue to support the club’s junior rugby development.

Fylde RU chairman Andy Hiles said:

We are delighted to continue this partnership with Cuadrilla and Centrica Energy supporting Fylde Rugby Club. Success for Fylde Rugby Club, and indeed the majority of rugby clubs, is not measured purely by results on the pitch. Success also needs to be measured by commercial backing. We have been working with Cuadrilla and Centrica Energy for a number of years now and this announcement cements that relationship for the benefit of both parties. As a National One League Rugby Club sponsorship is vital to the on-going development of Fylde and our status as one of the leading clubs in the North West of England.”

Cuadrilla chief executive Francis Egan said:

“Fylde Rugby club is an important part of the local community and we are pleased to continue our sponsorship for another year.  We look forward to continue to follow the team’s progress over the coming season and wish the club all the best.”

Centrica Energy’s head of exploration Mark Lappin said:

“We’re delighted to once again be supporting the club as sponsors and would like to wish all the players the best of luck for the coming season.”

Cuadrilla CEO Francis Egan receives a signed first team shirt from former England and Lions captain Bill Beaumont at Fylde RFC’s end of season game.
